Alright guys,

So i currently have a Habu mouse which has done me well but its playing up recently. For example if you move from left to right instead of a nice straight line its really quite jumpy. If i plus in a very cheap microsoft mouse its much more of a straight line so i imagine my mouse is past its best.

Thing is i cant use the cheap one because the click alone drives you up the wall, its so loud as well as the fact it just feels cheap.

Now i dont need a mega expensive mouse but just looking for something thats good, quiet and maybe similar to the habu. Having the extra buttons on the side is nice but not a necessity.

I did go shopping at the weekend but found out that nowhere seems to have the mice on display so you cant get a feel for them before you buy them.

In before the obligatory "MX518" crew land!!

I'd recommend a Logitech G5 or similar - I love Logitech stuff, and the customer service is just second to none!

It is, however, nothing what so ever like the Habu... So maybe a this might be up your street?

Yep the MX518 whilst is a good mouse (using one myself ATM) is clicky which doesnt really fit with OPs wants of quiet, I used to use a lachesis and its more suited but I found after a year or so the tracking became intermittent, could have prob got replaced on warranty but it was also a bit small for my liking so took opportunity to get a bigger mouse

Cheers guys, id rather go off some recomendations than buying blind so thanks.

My point about 'like the habu' i could drop to be honest as long as its a good mouse, i'll soon get used to a new one i presume.

I still use a Lachesis and it's pretty good, I do find it plays up every now and then though. But having said that it is about 4-5 years old maybe?

Was personally thinking about cashing in on a Roccat Kone though later in the summer. Been a Razer fan boy for far too long.

Well went with the MX518 and have to say i'm very pleased with it. Its a tad clicky but i dont mind that at all, its nothing like the cheap thing i was using as an interim mouse, I could hear that damn thing over my earphones!

So thanks.

I was a death adder fan and got myself a roccat kone when it was doing the double click problem. The Kone is well built and the colours can look nice, but it just felt strange to me. It was like the drivers were trying to do too much and requires a lot of fiddling to feel as good as my deathadder did (tracking, aiming etc). FYI, I have had my Kone for about 1.5 years, so it's not a jerk reaction!

Just today I've ordered another death adder. Just feels better. I ordered it from here with that monster mat deal as I'm also looking to replace my razer exactmat as I prefer cloth mats over metal.
