I'm starting a new venture and need a PC capable of handling the stuff I need to do on it
I will be writing, blogging, coding html,css,etc, but also podcasting and video editing. I will also be handling a large quanity of 10Mb RAW photo files and editing them and archiving them quickly is important. I may also need to access my stuff remotely.
I'm thinking along the lines of a powerful unit with a 1TB NAS over gigabit ethernet, or a 1TB RAID in-PC which I can back up to a NAS if that helps with speed.
I will keep by 19" TFT for now but may upgrade or get another to run alongside.
I know what I want workflow wise, but have no idea which components are best for the job, eg, would a Quad core offer SIGNIFICANT improvements over E4500, or would I need a dedicated graphics card for the video element, if so, which one?
My budget is around £600-£1000 excluding the NAS, but I would also like a recommendation on the best NAS, budget: up to £400
