Hey Guys/Gals,

Im in the market for a NAS Box and i havent a scooby on which one to go for.
I have a few requirements that would be needed which are:

* Needs 2bays for 2x2TB
* Needs to support RAID
* Cant break the bank (£300 tops inc. HDDs)

I would like to have a 2TB array just to be safe.

Can any of you recommend one for me, im at a lose really and would appreciate any input.
It would be for home use not business.

If you require any more information just holla.

Thanks in advance!

I have a Ready Nas Duo, with a few changes to settings I get a nice 35mbs down and 22mbs up from it on a gigabit network and it runs like a dream, maybe something to look into?

It can do Raid 0 and 1 and can hold 2x2tb drives.

I think it can be found for £137ish on it's own.

maybe

HP ProLiant MicroServer - AMD 1.3GHz DC - 1GB - 160GB NHP LFF - GbE - 1Yr NBD parts - £100 CASHBACK

239.99 but you get £100 cash back...

Will consider, thanks.

Sliding slightly off topic, which is the best 2TB drive? I see a few with 5400rpm others with 7200rpm.
Out of all on ocuk which would you basket?

Would say that if you're using your NAS purely for backups or archives then no need to buy a super fast drive. After the first (massive) copy then everything will transfer nice and fast, so it's probably fine to go for something cheaper/slower.

that said 7200rpm drives are cheap these days.
