Hi all,

At work we have a system that monitors clients servers and shows details about them on a screen, this is a web based thing that we currently use a laptop to connect to and then the laptop plugs into the screen and outputs what we need to see.

We want to tidy this up and use something that will hide behind the screen and do the same job.

I'm after a very small net top that can perch on top of the mounting bracket that the screens are mounted to. We need 3 of these and they all need to be able to out put full HD resolution.

I think the height of these needs to be slightly less that 20cm if possible, the cheaper the better.

I am debating if we should use netbooks so that we can use the keyboard for occasional re-configuration, but this is not essential. What is essential is they must output full HD over VGA or HDMI.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated as they are looking to order today if possible.

Thanks,

G

Any thoughts on this:

I think I’ve settled on this Acer Aspire Revo R3700 Nettop one as being a good choice at £189.89:

Intel Atom Dual Core D525B 1.8GHz
2GB RAM
500GB HDD
No Optical Drive
NVIDIA ION 2
HDMI Port
Linux

This Zotac Zbox Nano AD10-B Plus Mini PC looks awesome and way smaller at 12.7x12.7x4.5cm (tempted to get one for home) but it’s £100 more at £279.98! Also it doesn’t have VGA, but does have HDMI.

AMD E350 1.6GHz
2GB RAM
320GB HDD
No Optical Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6310
Bluetooth
No Operating System

Not sure what resolutions they do though.

We went with the revo r3700 in the end. It is perfect for what we want.

I have taken one home for the weekend to see if it would be any good as an htpc but it really stutters with streaming HD stuff. Completely unwatchable, real shame cause it fits like a glove where I wanted to put it :(

This is using windows 7 64 with vlc playing the movies from a share on my micro server. My work laptop does the same job flawlessly.

What codecs? had the same bother until I switched from k-lite to cccp and MPC.

Sorry to hijack the thread, just didnt see point in making a new one when this is basically the same.

Will either of these 2, be good for watching movies off throught HDMI straight to my TV?
