Spec me a network

hi can you spec me a good fast and stable network,
a wireless router & pci card,
I do a lot of gaming so I might invest in powerline but I want to see what wireless it like first,
the last router i had was rubbish and needed reseting every 30 mins both wired and wireless, it was a linksys wag54g have they got better since then? I'm on adsl btw

Unlucky on the last router - I've never seen such an utter bag of spanners as the WAG54G!

I have a WRT54G never had it ever go offline, or DC in 3 yrs of owning it, and I run my main rig gaming, my downloading rig via cable into it,

And my lappy via wireless no problems

Netgear DG834G, best ADSL router there is, very stable and just does the job.

And for compatibility sakes, just get this Netgear Adapter card, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-011-NG&groupid=46&catid=1002&subcat=, works fine on my HTPC for streaming movies and music e.t.c

Wireless should be fine depending how strong the signal is from the router to your PC. As for the other two, no idea I'm afraid as I've never used them. Google is your friend.

thanks, I'm in an 200 year old 4 bed house with good old brick walls, I plan to put the router downstairs next to the phone socket, have wireless for the laptops and maybe homeplug for gaming but I'll see how I get on with wireless first.

I know nothing of these though, so wait until someone can say they will work fine.

yep it looks good though I've heard some problems with that one with selecting regions etc.
