Sorry if posted in the wrong place. I have recently moved into a new place and my 40" TV no longer cuts it anymore. The 40" will be designated to the bedroom TV duties now.

So i got a budget of about £1500-£1750

I have got approval from the financial committee to approve to get a 55" TV with a soundbar. Typically i would usually go for a Sony Bravia set up with matching soundbar.

The one im looking at is the Sony 55XF9005 and the XF9000 soundbar. Good choice ? or is there a better combo for the money.

Thanks in advance.

LG 55" OLED and LG soundbar will work in that budget and generally match to keep the financial committee happy, granted you'll not get Dolby Atmos on the soundbar unless you drop on a good deal for a SJ9

LG b7 for £1199 and then that will leave you plenty of cash left over for a good sound bar... Which I can't recommend as I don't know much about them :D

Thanks , a lot of my colleagues have mentioned the LG 55 OLED and there seems to be some deals floating around Richer Sounds etc etc. Half tempted. I guess I need to see one in person to see if I can break from the Sony mould.

Sony's 2018 tv's are suppose to be very good i saw one in Richer sounds few weeks back my mate that works at richer sounds showed me a 55" version and it looked amazing but that was well into your budget think it was £1800. Can't remmember the model though

I always liked the Yamaha YSP2700. Think I would've got that if I didn't go balls deep on an atmos soundbar, the Sony HT-ST5000.

I've got the LG55B7V and I can absolutely recommend it, it's a fantastic TV. In terms of a soundbar, you should probably go in and test a few, they are so subjective. I've heard good things about the new Sonos beam, which is well in your budget at £400, otherwise beyond that I'd say you want to be looking at the Yamaha YSP2700. That and the TV would be right on the limit of your budget, but it's a fantastic soundbar. The LG SJ8 soundbar is good but it only has one HDMI input and people have complained about a lack of volume and sound detail. Richer Sounds are also doing £100 cashback on the Samsung HW-MS750 soundbar, making it £499, and that's got some excellent reviews as well.

Samsung HW-MW650 is superb, I've got one with the wireless rear speaker pack. Seems to actually work slightly better with my new LG OLED than it did with my previous Samsung TV too, which is baffling.

Couldnt agree more, I have the next mdoel up the 750
i also have the wireless rewar speakers and the wireless sub.
Honestly, I think its a superb setup. The wireless works great, the rear speakers really a good sense of depth and on my word the sub is awesome. (The scene near the end on Ready player One was so good I watched it a few times but, was afraid the house might start to crumble if I watched it anymore.)
