Spec me a new build....

Am currently running:

AMD 3700+
2Gb Geil Value RAM
ATI X1800XT

I have just bought a 20" Samsung Pebble for the XBOX 360 and wanted a rig to compliment it.

It needs to be a bit of an all rounder. Games, Date Processing and Encoding/Burning.

MUST HAVES

• Good Optical Drive for Burning
• Quiet
• Cool
• Must be able to overclock (as i loved doing that with the 3700+)

The missus wants to be able to burn movies etc and for me still be able to work on the pc.

Have around £400-£500 including delivery and want a new keyboard and mouse too. Also a new case if you have the budget. Fire away guys!

If i dropped the case and PSU would i get a better CPU and motherboard?

Above looks good, should clock well, but I'd swap the scythe out for a tuniq tower

Would me getting 4GB be any difference if i had Vista?

Or should i keep it at 2GB with XP Pro?

The thing that makes the diference is whether the OS is 64 bit. A 32bit OS can only really work with 3Gb IIRC. A 64 bit OS can address loads (I forget the figure) but either 64 bit XP or preferably 64 bit Vista can use 4Gb

What case/psu u currently got?
