I'm looking to upgrade my current CPU+Fan/Heatsink and Motherboard. My Budget is around £600 and the PC is mainly used for Gaming.

Current Specs
Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 Socket 1156
CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz Lynnfield
PSU: 1000W Corsair
GFX Card: HIS HD 7970 IceQ X² GHz Edition 3072MB GDDR5
Edit:
Case: Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case
Ram Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-310-CS

Im only using 2 of the 4 sticks of the RAM so possibly thinking about upgrading those as well to 2x 8GB sticks

Edit 2:
Thought i should mention this as ive seen a couple of SSD's mentioned. Im already running 2x 128GB SSDs so will be holding off for a while till i upgrade those.

The board he has is an ATX, so any normal Z97 will fit.

But the make and model of the case is still needed to check the H100i fits.

Also there are better boards than the Hero about.

So then, @OP

What case do you have and what RAM is it that you have? is it XMS3, Dominator, Dominator platinum etc?

I wouldn't worry about changing your graphics card, its pretty much an R9 280x. Motherboard, CPU & Cooler should give you an overclock to 4.5ghz roughly and a new PSU added in for good measure - not knowing how old your current one is or how long you've had it.

Re-use your RAM, nothing wrong with what you have and the SSD will give you a nice boost on loading speeds.

H100i is a great cooler, but make sure it will fit in your case, it will require 2x120mm fan spaces together.

1 x Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £269.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £109.99

H105 has more surface area than a H100i.

Gaming 3 is currently being supplied with a free gaming headset and comes with a 4 year warranty.

Ok i have updated the main post as i miss typed what ram i was using. Currently using 2x 4GB sticks(linked in main post now) and im thinking of going to 2x 8GB what do u guys think?

The H100i has Corsair Link, allowing you to change fan speeds, make fan curves, change the LED colour etc. I'd go for the H100i as you sacrifice a little bit of heat for more customisation and better aesthetics, but that's your choice :)

Ok Im pretty much sold on the

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM

By the looks of things the Hydro H105 is about the same price as the Hydro H100i so is the H100i just for smaller cases?

Finally im torn on the Gaming 3 for free headset and price vs the Asus Maximus VII Hero Intel Z97 for future proofing, thoughts?

The OEM model gives you 1 year warranty where the Retails gives you 3, its worth the extra.

The H100i has a 27mm radiator where the H105 is a 37mm radiator.

The H100i is a pain in the butt if you use win8.1 and the H105 has better performance due to the increase in surface area.
