Spec me a new mouse...

Evening all and merry xmas!

i think the time has come for me to get a new mouse. have been using a wireless optical standard logitech jobbie for a few years now - i just find it is not responsive enough for my liking, is tatty and just a really budget mouse!

Im looking for a wired optical mouse - and will probably be looking to get back into pc gaming sometime next year. Im predominantly going to be using it more for windows use though. i did use to own a basic MS optical wheel mouse so im looking for something more responsive than that.

Any suggestions?

the razer with the free mousemat looks tempting...but to be honest that looks a bit out of my price range. is the logitech mx518 a good all rounder for gaming and windows use?

A very similar thread earlier suggested a Logitech MX518. I personally have the MX500 which is the same minus the "gamer" paint job and the extra buttons.

yeh not a great fan of the paint job, the mx500 seems to be EOL now too

Deeerty bastages! They seem to be replacing it with this. I don't like the extra button they're adding. I used to have the first wireless laser they came out with years back and it had buttons all over. Did my box in. I only ever use the left right and wheel. I don't even press the wheel.

Well tbh i have found the mx518 for £17, and the A4 X-748K Gaming mouse (with 3200 dpi) for the same price. i prefer the way the latter looks and it seems to have got good reviews.. anybody got the A4 mouse?
