Spec me a new Power Supply for my 2x 290x crossfire setup

Hey

My 2nd 290x came today and after i installed it can get into windows OK as soon as i load BF4 it just powers off in crossfire within seconds like someones pulled the plug.

Currently Running a Lepa 750w and i know it wont be good enuf for my 2 cards. It was just off chance it might work.

So my question is whats the best power supply for my 2x 290x ? we are clearly looking at 1000w Plus maybe ?

I have £150 give or take :)

Yep, both great.

So many top quality PSU about you cant really go wrong, Antec do 1000 and 1300W Platinum PSU's that are epic too.

Like i said in your other thread, your Lepa was never going to be enough with only 648w on the 12v rails. A pair of 290X cards in reviews were drawing a total system power of 747w with a 3770k. The EVGA Supernova are very good units, built by Superflower and have that awesome 10 year warranty.
 
Thanks. i am off to OCUK in the morning to get a Waterblock for the 2nd card and also a better PSU & 2nd radiator. Just a couple of pics of the 2nd card. please ignore the fact the power cable is a mess as i just put it in to try. and a cheeky pic of my new eyefinity setup to

i just been messing around and done a heaven 4 benchmark what it was able to run on 1 screen at 1920 x1200. The first run it powered off half way though but 2nd run managed it . The 2nd card is screaming away at 94c but i did manage to get 2200 score on stock clocks.

The 2nd card is defo being held back. Is it worth me uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them

Think i am going to got with this week only PSU at 1300w

If you are going to spend that much then get the EVGA Supernova 1300W for £14 more as it has a 10 year warranty. Superflower is also the manufacturer for the EVGA.

Get the Superflower leadex Platinum 1000w in white, or get the 1200w version, both on offer this week only, brought one myself today, cant wait till Monday for it to arrive, I went for the black version though, will look the dog's dooo daaa's in you case with the white LED connectors too, the offer will finish first thing Monday morning.

Afternoon

Went to OCUK yesterday and got a few bits.

Fitted my 2nd new 290x with a Waterblock, added new dual rad and fans etc and also a new Superflow 1300w power supply as i have now gone crossfire as my 750w old PSU was no good:)

Just a few more things to do and then i will be upgrading to Hasswell E when it comes out :) Been Playing BF4 in crossfire today at 5700x1200 and getting around 80-120 FPS :) so all in all rather happy !!
