Spec me a new psu

how much daily use has it had?

5 years for only 4-6 hours a day isn't that much.

If it's 24/7, then a new wouldn't hurt, keep the old one as a backup.

Greetings

my pc is quite old now and scared the psu will go pop its been running for yonks! a solid 5 years or so now.

So after a new one (Currently using Enermax, modular 700W) I think!

£100 budget or less

my motherboard http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/P5E3_PRO/

Socket 775
Q6660

Please put your full system specs in here then it will be easier to decide what powersupply is best for you!

A 5 year old modular 700W enermax? I know it's a bit old - but those things are built like tanks (and cost the same). Has it given you any reason to doubt its effectiveness (apart from age)?

I would personally keep it until you make you next big system upgrade or it gives you any trouble.

My Corsair TX750 is 8 years old now. Just a year out of warranty.

I have no concerns with it at all and just make sure it is cleaned more regularly now.

I wont be upgrading until this goes bang and wont work even then will just be basics to get it going again.

Usage back in 2008 a lot around 12 hours a day to even 24 hours as I just leave the pc on. But now about 8/6 hours give or take a day

And don't game much as I did and edit photos a lot. It just a small thing at the back of my mind as I have had one pop before and had to start again and lost a lot of stuff on the hdd. And money isn't something I have on tap as much as I used too. No idea what a new system would cost these days.
