Im 34 and have up til now enjoyed radio 1, a lot of the music is now not really for me. But mainly its the presenters that are pushing me away as they are just rubbish. I need a radio station for the car, don't really do local radio as there is too much of a homage to 80's for my liking.

I like annie mac and will listen to her shows. But apart from that I'm at a loss.

it's a normal car radio so no digital stations.

If you like sport talksport?

I can't really put up with drive and them purposefully being "controversial" to irritate people but Hawksby and Jacobs (1-4) is a laugh, Keys and Grey are great sports talkers (10-1) and the sports bar and weekend morning shows are good with the likes of Quinny :D

If you want music though this isn't for you :p

Radio 2? It seems the most obvious choice for me. If your 34 you will recognise several of the presenters from radio 1 from back in the day... You know, when it was good.

Between 1900-2000hrs or at random times I listen to radio 4, they quite often have interesting programs on.

I like talking radio shows more than music. I find myself listening to 5Live pretty much all the time. Sorry no recommendations for music shows though!

My wife tried radio 2 on the drive to work this morning and listened to Christ Evans, she said his music was awful old and out dated, I guess we are an age caught between the 2 radio stations.

Same.

Can't really do music radio any more as nothing suits my tastes, would rather just put the iPod on.

I am younger than you :D

Give it some time and listen to the range of shows, it's got a much broader mix than R1 and the "high profile" presenters never feel like they are calling it in, with Graham Norton and Dermot O'Leary both surprising me with there shows.

Plus I was never a fan of Jo Wiley on Radio 1, but she doesn't seem to try as hard on Radio 2 and it comes off as a much better show. Plus the time slot is far better for her style that the ones she ever had on Radio 1.
