Hi there in approx 4 weeks time i will have £1500 to spend on my first build so i wanted you guys to spec me a rig, I have no experience overcloking and i want it a bit futureproof so if it has one graphics card I would like the power supply to handle another one at a later date.

I will also add that can you provide a list of what you need next time you start a spec thread closer to when you are ready to order, or just bump this one.

Base unit, OS, monitor, Keyboard, mouse etc.

Well this thread you have started will disappear deep into the forum pages as newer threads are created, so all you have to do is post a new comment in this thread and it will bounce straight back to the top of the first page.

Right i`m bumping this thread cus I have my money a bit early and i`m ordering on monday.

I have $1500 and I need a good gaming system preferbly AMD based I know bulldozer is coming out so I will just get an AMD AM3 Dual Core cpu seems a bit pontless buying a quad core or a hex core when bulldozer is so close I know bulldozer is an unknown quantity but I have decided to stick with the underdog.

I need the base unit operating system and gaming keyboard. As I said If there are not two graphics cards I would like the option of adding one later.

Also im thinking of getting this monitor which would put my budget down to £1200,http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-163-SA&groupid=17&catid=1120&subcat= I dont really need this monitor as I have a 1080p 24 inch one but it looks like a great monitor to me soo I would like it.

So you want bulldozer?

Here then.

This includes that monitor.

The HafX case comes with a GX750 PSU which you just sell on for profit.

The motherboard is AM3+ and Crossfire at equal speeds for both slots.

When Bulldozer comes out, sell the phenom 955be and replace.

So its the same as before.

But now has a 2TB harddrive as well as the large SSD.

Blu-ray now included too because of the large screen.

Again just sell the GX750W PSU for £50'ish

ASUS board as people are not happy with gigabyte - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18299953

Thanks Guys for the suggestions I have read about all the parts and decided i`m going to go with stulids parts but with reapers graphics card because it seems better than the OcUK one I will try and post a build log with photos probably entitled "how not to build a pc" as it is my first attempt

Well if you get stuck, just ask, I have a bit of a rep for this sort of thing.

Edit, I might think its worth looking at a different monitor.

That Dell is mighty nice with a super resolution but my budget wont stretch that far lolz. Thanks for all the help. I wtahced that video you put a link too much of the stuff he was talking about went over my head but the bottom line I think is that the monitor is not very good so I guess I wont buy it afterall, I should have done my research but i`m glad you showed me the video at least I wont make a costly mistake.

Yeah I guess to run a monitor like that I would need two decent graphics cards every 6 months to one year and I just cant justify that.

Not sure if it would be that quickly but i reckon it will be quicker than gaming at 1920 by 1080. Get a second opinion on this though :)
