Hi,

Need a new router to replace my BT home hub.

I am on FTTC (Infinity 2). I have a modem which I can utilise if needed separately.

I need to be able to setup two WiFi networks each with their own passwords and the ability to time control each of these independently. A simple user interface would be good. The net is used for access to my works network via VPN and gaming both wired and wirelessly, plus I have a couple of IP cameras hooked up. Timed device control would be good too (that actually works, unlike the home hub which seems to be circumventable very easily).

The house isn't huge so range probably won't be an issue for most devices - does need to get a good signal through an exterior wall for one of the cameras which is mounted at first floor level outside.

Willing to pay a bit more than your average router to get what I need it to do at a high performance level.

Cheers

All your issued seem to be WiFi related so I'd suggest keeping the HH, disabling the WiFi on it and install the ubiquitous Ubiquiti access point or similar. The UAPs will let you have up to four SSIDs on them and you can time and rate limit each with separate policies. One should be sufficient by the sounds of it.

Of course if the HH is failing at routing, switching or firewalling or something else then this won't fix that and a new router would be in order.
