I am in this exact same boat... P4 3.0 ht, need to upgrade

Its expensive business keeping up to date... 2gb of RAM is the best part of £200 at current prices

In my case i'm looking at about £500 minimum, and thats if i stick with just 1gb of RAM

Very quickly put together, but just to give you an idea of what you could get for 350:

MSI 965P NEO (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £64.99

It's quite a bit over the £350 mark, but save another £100 and get something better.

Note: the above is just an example of what you could get for that price, I didn't check what's best etc.

Edited the above, it's £100 over budget but save that extra £100 and get yourself a nice PC :)
Good work! I agree, he could easy make up the difference/shortfall by selling his old kit. . . .

Remember Big.Wayne, I put that together real quick, so I might not have chosen the best items / manufacturers for that price.

Looks pretty good to me though - MSI, Intel and BFG are all good, some people have voted against those Hiper PSUs quite a bit >.<

Nice spec, apart from why did you put DDR1 RAM in there?
