My PC is 2 years old and I'm looking to upgrade.

Here is what I have:

Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-5400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-095-CS)
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)
Asus P5N32-SLi SE Deluxe nForce4 SLi X16 (Socket 775) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-174-AS)
2x EVGA GeForce 7900 GS 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-013-EA)
Antec TruePower Trio 650W PSU (CA-063-AN)

I don't play that many games anymore, primarily use media stuff (which can be intense but doesn't require amazing graphics cards). I do still play games, though not FPS - usually RTS or MMOs.

I really need a new case as I took out the hard drive bay of my current one and have now lost it. Also, the "door" is a bit loose and I've lost a couple of the rubber stands. But I digress...

If I stick with what I have, how well will it run Vista? I currently have XP and would like to use Vista. I now have a 24" widescreen monitor and I'm not sure if my graphics card is up to the task - seems a bit sluggish from time to time.

So to sum up. Shall I just buy a new case, and move everything into it? Or could I spend say £300 and get a massive performance boost that would be totally worth it?

The prices of hardware has increased a lot over the last few months. If I were in your shoes I'd just buy a new case and wait until prices come down a bit.
If you really want a new GFX card you could sell your 7900's and buy a faster single second-hand card.

Your current rig should run Vista fine.

i use a fairly similar rig, if your media stuff is photoshop (heavily using photoshop) or film editing, you may want to look into more ram, if it is more video/picture watching then your current choice looks good
