..........First Person Shooter (FPS).

Fairly new games really, would like to utilise DX10. Any on the horizon?

Past games i've played and really enjoyed are (in no particular order):
MOHAA
COD4
Crysis
Far Cry
Doom
FEAR
Half Life's
UT3
Unreal II
Prey
BF2
BF2042
Tron2
Deus Ex
Bioshock
Max Paynes (3rd person)
Splinters Cells (3rd person)
BloodRayne (3rd person)
Gears of War

STALKER (sucked)
Uber Soldier (sucked)

I also loved the Star Wars 'StarFighter' type games and the fps ones; Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.

So hopefully you can see where my tastes are.

No RTS's please, they suck period! (lol, hey its my thread :p)

So, any recommendations would be gratefully accepted, thanks

Have you tried Star Wars Republic commando? Also can try these:

Gears of War
Unreal II
Both Max Paynes
Bioshock

EDIT: Meh just saw you played Max Payne, tried MOD Pacific Assault and Airbourne?

Forgot to put on my list, but yes to
Republic Commando
Wasn't too keen on Bioshock or Gears of War tbh.
Already done Max Paynes (in my list anyway)
Done Unreal II

Regards the Ornage Box, its just a collection of all the HL games plus Team Fortress isn't it?

Oh, Painkiller, loved that one :D

Thanks for the rapid responses guys but i really am looking at recent games, maybe in the last year that AREN'T already on my list.
 
well in a couple months CoD 5 will be out, which should be good (although imo it sucks they are going back to the WW2 storyline, but i guess the war agaisnt japan has fewer games about it then the war agaisnt germany).

Flamethrowers (with firing spreading by itself as you ignite stuff), vehicles in multiplayer, and 4 man CO-OP, more destructable terrain and buildings. It should be ammazing.
 
There really aren't any summer titles I can think of, winter is the gamers friend. New titles are on the way.

Games to look for:
Left 4 Dead
Farcry 2
Crysis Warhead
CoD5
etc

As for the orange box:
Half-Life2, Episode 1 and Episode 2 - All amazing, especially ep2
Team Fortress 2 - Unique and fantastic multiplayer madness.
Portal - Stunning little addition, must be played.

I don't know if you have played the episodes, but the orange box is just plain worth it. Forget when these game came out, very few games rival Valve's artistic talent.
 
Couple of oldies but goodies - Soldier of Fortune (1+2), Viet Cong.

[edit] Just seen your looking for new. Wolfenstein out next year, I think - if you've played RTCW might be worth checking out.

Yeah, looking forward to the new COD, back to Japan.
Same for Crysis new episode, Far Cry 2 etc.

Hmmm.....loved HL2, mavity gun is the best weapon ever imho.
Will look into the orange box then, as i had no idea what 'Portal' was. Looks interesting.
 
Seriously, play Portal-it isnt quite an FPS, but I think that most would agree with me when I say that it is one of the best games ever...

EDIT: And let me know how Call of Juarez is when you play it-something that I always think about picking up and never do!
 
get a fps game called Postal and Postal2.
Dont think i played the 2ed tho but the first one is funny as ****
