im getting fed up of using tesco and other cheap slippers for my bare feet, after a while they smell manky, the most recent attempt worked awesome but the slippers them selves fell apart before the odour set in as they were breathable, any reccomendations up to about 40 quid would be much appreciated.

i am usually barefoot on slippers as i dont go out much so breathable is a must :)

edit: im willing to up the budget but i prefer the 40 quid mark after i realised i just spent 70 odd quid on boots i hardly use as im not out much but i use slippers most of the time :)

I think being barefoot is your issue really. If you’re wearing them round the house all day I’d wear socks. I have drapers of Glastonbury slippers and they’re lovely. But even with them if I go barefoot for more than 30 minutes I can feel my feet starting to get clammy. Socks are what you need.

If you must go bare foot then maybe something like crocs?

i wore ones that breathed and had almost no 'sweat, i thought i found a awesome pair ;but they broke up, using tesco ones at moment and the moisture and smell is horrendous, i can fill these ones with detoll and they still stink need a proper pair.

up to 70 quid im thinking :)

Crocs and socks!

Just crocs.

A salutary lesson which nobody really wants, a friend was steaming some kale to go with his sausage mash and gravy over a pan of boiling water. He was lifting the pan to place in the sink and cannot remember how but ended up badly burning his feet. He was wearing just socks and it was those that caused most of the damage. They retained the boiling water long enough and could not be cooled down fast enough as he lay on the kitchen floor. They were also hard to remove after.

His thoughts don't just wear stockinged feet when working near a stove. Here endeth the first lesson.

I wear crocs with odour eaters. Fed up of constantly spending out on slippers that fall apart very quickly, no matter how much they cost.

Just go barefoot. I'm. Barefoot then sliders when in the kitchen. If it's freezing, I'll bang on some thick hiking socks.

Mahabis. I splashed out in a pair and have no regrets. I used to get clammy feet with previous slippers but these are felt with a wool lining so I can wear them with bare feet and they don’t get clammy.

I was just racking my brain as to whether my Mahabis kept my feet dry and I am 99% certain they do. So yes totally agree, Mahabis.

For size 10 follow their website, as the EU/UK translation is garbage and they don't follow the international standard.

Another vote for Crocs here. I mocked them at first but am now the proud owner of several pairs and pretty much live in them at home!
