First post (and first build) so hello everyone!

Right I've had a little look and this is what I've come up with. Any suggestions on how I could improve are most welcome!

It'll be mainly used for gaming, software development and general use, I'll also need a monitor, case, PSU and I don't need speakers or a sound card.

I was thinking that at the moment I'd go for a smaller HDD and get a second one further down the line, same with RAM.

Quick questions,

1. I'm unsure with the PSU (don't want to spend more than £60), I wanted at least 600W for the 8800 GT but I couldn't see whether it was ATX2.0 or something. Am I right in thinking that i want ATX2.0? The mobo spec says it has 24-pin ATX Power connector and 2 x 4-pin ATX 12V Power connector.

2. I'm looking for a decent enough case for £50/ 60, I'm not really sure how to pick one.
3. Is the CPU/RAM/Mobo bundle worth it? Or should i get the individual CPU/Mobo and some faster RAM?
4. Which graphics card? Should I got for this one or the EVGA 8800 GT superclocked with crysis (as I'll need to buy crysis anyway and already have company of heroes) or should I just get the EVGA 8800 GTS crysis edition.

Am I also right with the 64 bit of Windows, further down the line I'd be thinking of getting more (and faster) RAM (4Gb upwards). I'll be waiting until Wednesday / Thursday to order as I'll see what the new special offers are like

Cheers guys

Update:

I've changed the PSU from the 650W Huntkey to OCZ GameXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply. Now I am still assuming that I want ATX2?

I've also decided to go for a different case, either the:

Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS II Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-054-LL&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=

or

Thermaltake VC3000BWS Armour Jr SuperMidi Tower - Black - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-034-TT&tool=3

other than looks is there any benfit of one over the other?

both run 120mm fans so cooling/noise should be about the same depending on the fans used.

so no real difference just depends on which you like the look of.

That corsair is ATX2.2 though. Would that work with my mobo etc? I seem to be getting very confused with all the different ATX business. The budget is pretty flexible to be honest soif spending a bit extra to get more life out of it or make it a bit more upgradeable then i'll definately consider it cheers.

If you want to keep the cost down go for the 450W (Corsair I mean, its 49.99 without VAT like the one you've chosen). It is more than enough for that system to be honest.

I will also get Vista Home premium. its only about 3 quid more. And get the Lian Li PC7 case!!! :)

Cheers guys, looks like the Lian Li case and the corsair PSU wins! Vista Home Premium is £15 more in 64 bit. And I was under the impression that premium just gives you some fancy effects but not a lot more? is it worth the extra £15?

Also I've noticed the BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail is on sale. Generally whats the concensus of the GT over the GTS? Apparently the GTS is quite a bit bigger, how will I know if its gonna fit into the case / mobo etc?

Thanks guys!

Right guys, Ive ordered everything last nite. I went for the ATX2.2 corsair 520w PSU the Lian Li case, the superclocked 8800GT crysis edition and vista home 64 bit premium. So thanks for all your help! Now I've gotta wait til tomorrow for delivery and then until 17th to start building!

Now this i think i'm just being paranoid, but otherwise I wont stop worrying, the ATX2.2 PSU definately won't have a problem with the mobo which is 24pin ATX and has 2 x 4-pin ATX 12V Power connectors?

Thanks again guys, you've been great!

no problem, plenty of people running it without an issue.
