It's been far too long since I last played a decent driving game so please spec me one! I use to like rally/track games (Gran tourismo, WRC etc) but also like the street racing/upgrade your car games too!

Preferably decent graphics and something I can play now (Not 6months down the road)

Many thanks!

Been playing Grid Auto, its fun and stuff.

TBH with driving games, I find unless they have some gimmick like the NFS:U series where you're a street racer then they're all basically the same game with different physics.

Assetto Corsa is probably your best bet, especially since you mentioned GT.

If you rally sim there's still arguably nothing better than Richard Burns Rally, although for arcade most of Colin McRae Dirt games will do.

The PC equivalent to GT Turismo is Assetto Corsa.

I am a Race 07 player* and Assetto Corsa takes some getting used to, it's very good - however a wheel is near compulsory. When feeling lazy I use a XBox controller, lifting off to shift gear takes some getting used too & coordination!

* Race 07 is great fun for touring car racing and less demanding.

Shift 2 - best sim/arcade game to date imo.
Grid Autosport - very good arcade racer.
Next car game - very good destruction derby type game still in the making.

It's a shame, Shift 2 was the nearest thing to a Forza/Gran Turismo type game, but last time I checked I couldn't find anyone online.

Grid Autosport is busy enough to get a good multiplayer game in the evening, and it's more semi-arcade, the cars handle pleasingly enough for somebody who likes a sim type racer.

Isn't Dirt 3 worth a punt? Heard it is a good game myself and what with there being a Steam sale it is perhaps perfect time to buy.

Prefer Dirt Showdown as it has a mix of race types and the demolition derby races are brilliant. I also found it pretty amazing in 3D. One downside was the race against a time limit to finish races they were annoying.

got stuck into robocraft right now(F2P steam) its mega fun, alright so its not technically a driving game but it certainly is fun
