As title, and I'm a bit out of touch, considering 2nd hand components low end core2 etc. but interested what a new budget build would be..

Basically it needs to run games like the sims with ease, but that's about as demanding as it will get.

Need the whole shebang Inc monitor apart from speakers and operating system.

And cpus still good for budget build?

Thanks

Well I was thinking 2nd hand internals, core2 or amd eqiv, maybe something with ddr 3 as it's cheaper..
Recon I can sort the internals for less than £100, then box it up in a cheap new case, with a cheap new monitor/kb/mouse.. I just wondering what a brand new equivalent would look like..

I think they are the way forward for budget builds. For very little outlay you can build a PC that is very nippy in general use and can actually still do some light gaming. Left 4 Dead 2 for instance is very playable with average settings.

It's much more capable then the Core 2 Duo E4400 build with a GT520 that it replaced which would have struggled with any sort of 3D gaming.
