Well with the release of Portal 2 I'm looking to get a headset to aid in the co-op enjoyment. Never owned a set for PC so I don't really know what to look for, the range on OcUK is pretty large so any recommendations would be useful, looking to spend perhaps £20-40 but I'd spend a little extra if there was something outstanding just above that range.

Don't waste your money on a headset, get a decent pair of headphones + a clip on/desk mic. Such as:

Sennheiser HD448 and the Zalman Clip on mic.

If all you want is a decent headset that isn't too expensive i second the Fatal1ty. Its only major problem is the really long wire is thin and can break (or be chewed through in moments by mischievous bunnies!!!).

I am considering going down the headphones/desk mic route at some point but i dunno how it'd work out.

I don't really use Headphones much so it would only really be for voice coms in games. That Creative one looks pretty good for the price, only other one I can see that also gets quite good reviews is this one?

Had a Fatal1ty headset, didn't think much to it. Then went onto a pair of Sennheiser PC350's, which were very good.. just too pricey to buy another pair when they eventually broke.

Now i'm using some Steelseries Siberia v2's. Quality wise they are as good as the Sennheisers, and just as comfy. Plus the mic can be hidden so it don't get in your way. Overall i can't see a single fault with them. Come in many pretty colours too!

A little more than your looking to pay but I highly reccomend the Sennheiser PC163D - the audio quality is good - head and shoulders above the likes of Steelseries, Logitech, Creative, etc. incredibly comfortable for long gaming sessions and crystal clear mic.
