Hey folks, my buddy has put some cash together and wants to get a decent PC for gaming. He has around about £800 to spend. He doesn't need speakers but he would like a headset as well, although it doesn't have to be included in this spec.

Does he need a screen and keyboard mouse too? and is he open to overclocking or would he want to stick with stock?

Closer to 900 than 800 and theres are a few bits you could drop like the ssd or something if needed but i think scrimping anymore will leave you with big bottlenecks

Another option

Also headset wise would advise him to go to his nearest HMV (dont know if they are considered competitors?) and they usually have headsets which you can try on and listen to. I got a pair of Sennheisers HD 205's and they are brilliant :)
 
NP, a lot of people report loud noises with the H100 which is due to the pump I think? So personally would look at a £30 air cooler. Will get 4.5Ghz out of the i5 nicely.
 
Yeah heard that also, there is a small mood you can do that solves this I believe. Might be thinking off something else though. Phantom or noctua I think.
