he's right - the expansion bays are covered with individual grilles - you have to break them off to remove them. i think they can be screwed back on though.

You are right, they are all the same size, but laptop ssd`s are slightly thinner.

Unless he's got a super slim laptop, any of the desktop ssd's should go.

As he has`nt mentioned what type of laptop he has, i thought it worth mentioning. Most ssd`s are 9-9.5mm thick and laptop ssd`s are 7mm.

I would recommend http://www.software4students.co.uk/ for any type of software e.g windows 7
They are a lot cheaper then anyone else. All you need to do is say what school, college or uni you go to and if you don't then just give them a random it doesn't matter and they don't investigate.

I tried them but they seem to only offer windows 7 upgrade - which wouldn't work for a new build as I need a fresh install.
