For the Mrs, her phone is 4 years old and it's starting to play up.

I'm not bothered about brand*, focus on battery life, storage, her current phone (Moto Z2 play) has a 6 inch screen, so similar size. USB C also as all our chargers are on that now.

She basically uses it to look at Facebook etc

Ideally sold on Amazon and sold by Amazon, only because I had a positive experience with warranty getting a full refund on a Nexus 5X after nearly 2 years.

*Oh, not and LG phone, never buy one of those ever again.
 
OnePlus Nord 5G seems to offer good value for money, and it’ll be a similar software experience.

The other option is the Poco F3 5G, currently £300 and comes with Snapdragon 870 and a 120 Hz display.
 
I did see that OnePlus Nord, when looking myself and seemed ok.

But I know little about smartphones.

Ok might be a winner. Thanks guys.

second hand note 8 ftw i have a note 8 and it takes good pictures if that is important to your missus, also nice internal storage and sd cards blah blah and still fairly powerful or a s7 :)
