Spec me a phone! Internet based (handset only)

Hey guys

I'm in the market for a new phone after my k800i's speaker started playing up. I've just recently upgraded my PAYG to get unlimited internet+texts, so I'm not looking to change tariff unless they'll give me unlimited texts+internet for £15/mo or less (unlikely). It also means I'm looking more towards an internet-based phone.

Budget is £150-200. I'm not looking for anything stunning - just reasonable internet, 3g is a must, and an easy to use browser. Can I get anything good for the money, or do I need to be looking at more expensive kit?

Spotify would be brilliant, and the ability to get apps of some description. If it's genuinely iphone-matching territory, I can go up to £350-400 (instead of a phone+ipod), but it'd need 30gb+ of space and decent software to sync music.

Any advice appreciated :)

Edit: Oh, and I'm on O2, so that'd be preferable just because I don't like other branding on my phone and I'd prefer not to unlock it.

Have a look at the Pulse. Its available from T-Mobile for about £150. Android phone which tick all your boxes.

Whoops, forgot to mention I wanted it on O2 due to not being too keen on unblocking it if that could void the warranty (and I don't like other logos on my phone!)

The HTC Tattoo is available new and sim-free for £180. The physical build quality *might* be better than the T-Mobile Pulse but the screen won't be as good - I think this uses a smaller, inferior resistive touch screen to the capacitative one on the Pulse.

The Pulse is £150 + £10 topup from T-mobile. The phone can then be unlocked for (I think) £12.50.

The Tattoo should have the HTC SenseUI which some people think is a big improvement on standard Android.

Both have CPU's which are almost identical.

Of the two I was going to pick the Pulse second hand for sub-£130 (sometimes you get lucky and it'll be £110) as it has a bigger, better screen. Rumour has it that the just announced Pulse Mini will run Android 2.1 and has almost the same hardware as the Pulse so could indicate that T-Mobile will continue to support it and provide an update later this year.

Other options for sub-£200 (but this time in the second hand market) are the LG Intouch GW620, Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Galaxy Portal, Motorola DEXT. I'm not necessarily recommending one to you. Also I can't speak for any Symbian/Windows devices as all my recent research has been into buying an Android phone.

1337th post ;-)

Right, I'm gonna head into town and take a peek at a handful of models, maybe try one or two out, and just see what it looks like I can get for the money. Any further suggestions would be great. I'm liking the idea I can get a decent android phone for the money, although I've not had a lot of experience with it yet I've heard good things. What's the music player like with them?

Edit:
Android tempted me, I'm not the owner of a Motorola DEXT :-)
Lovely little phone, very pleased with it apart from the fact it appears you can't use a proxy server on wireless? That's a bit of a downside...
