I have an old HP Deskjet 895Cxi which is fantastic on black and white text documents but isn't that great with colour pictures or on photo paper.

Since I have lots of photos that I may want printing at some point - can anybody suggest a photo printer for me please? My budget is around £100.

I'm not bothered about speed - just quality of my prints.

What sort of paper would you suggest I use as well?

Canon or Epson IMHO. I use a Canon Pixma iP5200 and it's superb for A4 (or smaller) prints. For best results I use Canon PR-101 paper but Ilford Galerie is also very good and cheaper.

If I want to print bigger than A4 then I just use Photobox

Canon Pixma IPXXXX series. Most can print on printable cd's/dvd's as well

Quoted for truth (*** didn't work). I love my IP5000. Money well spent, can print straight onto CD's for that added bonus, top paper feed, tray feed etc etc. Also has some funky USB port for plugging some cameras in without a PC.
