Ok so I am finally going to have to let go of my Corsair HX 620w. I have had it for ages and it still works like a beast but i have decided to go for 670's in SLI and as i understand it i need at least 750w to be safe ( although saying that i have run an overclocked 480 on it for 2 and a half years and from benchmarks a single 480 draws more power than 2x 670's!!!!)

Anyway, i thought i would play it safe and get a new one anyway. Perhaps 850w to give me more headroom.

What do you guys think is the best buy in the ~£100 or less bracket.

A HX620 will have no trouble with 670 Sli. It has 3 x 12v lanes with 18A each and a combined wattage of 600w.

My previous build with 670 Sli only sucked 445W from the Wall when gaming. 750W is not needed for 670 Sli they state this to cover people who use cheap PSU's.

You might need to use adapters to get the 4 x 6 pin PCI-e connectors. The HX620W has triple 12v rails but also has power sharing so it will share rails if more juice is being drawn on a rail.

I do want modular. I have narrowed it down to a Corsair HX850 or a XFX Pro 850W Black fully modular. Both the same price and i cant decide which one :/

Or maybe i should just keep my 620w. Still seems to be going strong after god knows how many years!

Just a brief comment really - I purchased my first ever Seasonic recently and was blown away by the quality. I even get a nice bag to put my leads in :) I also have a Corsair one which is just as good. keep away from very cheap brands in order to protect your valuable components.

I would stick with the 620 and if you find it is not up to the task, then upgrade.
