I have been reading review sites for 2-3 days and my eyes are watering after tonights session.

Printer must have:

Duplex printing
ADF (automatic document feeder)
Decent scanning resolutions
Good black text printing on plain paper (not bothered about photo printing)
Wifi
Price under £200.

I have identified the following potentials:

Epson Stylus Photo PX800FW - (not very good black text printing on plain paper)
I DO NOT want HP.

i guess one option is to get the printer hardwired to my desktop and have it on all the time (it nearly is) and printer share it...

But for faxes am i able to send a fax over internet as i dont have a phone line in my room...

might sound daft, the best printer I ever owned is an HP Deskjet 460 with wireless and bluetooth. This is primarily a travel printer, even has a battery. The ink lasts for absoutley ages and the resolution is fantastic.

ok, so its a small looking printer but well worth the money. Then buy a canon LIDE30 scanner or something to compensate for your scanning needs.

All in ones have you by the short and curleys, tiny ink cartridges which last ten minutes and cost a bomb.

yeah multifunctions seem to be a bit cut down its prob why i cant find the perfect one...

but i really like Automatic Document Feeders for scanning, decent A4 black printing and wireless :/

not many true wireless MF Printers usually just ethernet

We have a Xerox workcentre multifunction at work. Black and white laser printer, scanner with ASF, fax, email etc. You can get them for around £200 though haven't tried scanning other than copy/fax which work fine.
