i want a semi decent printer for the useual text print offs but is also capable to deliver high quality photographic prints for the photos i take with my DSLR

hope you can help me budget £150

You can get colour laser printers, they give you a lot more prints than inkjet printers. Particularly good for text prints. I've never used colour laser for glossy photographs, I don't think many laser printers are designed to print on glossy paper.

Personally, I use a laser print for documents and online services like PhotoBox for photo prints.
