Must be a colour printer.
Should cost around £100.
Should not be huge.
Mainly used for document printing. Ocassionally will print photos.

Thank you.

If you are mainly doing docs then a laser would be a good choice, but even a colour laser will not produce good photographic prints. An inkjet can produce good photographic prints, but text will never be as crisp as on a laser.

Catch 22.

Thanks

anyone brand recommendations, or links to decent reviews, I'm after personal opinion here as well.

thanks

if it's just a printer you looking for - and not a mfp then i think you've got a really good budget.

you might want to check out something like this (hope this link is allowed as it's not a competitors ;)) and for a review on it you could check out this one or this one.

It's HP so you're going to get a good product and the cartridges for it should be reasonable.

But you might also want to check out: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=PR-135-CA&groupid=702&catid=52&subcat=429

I would recommend the Canon MP6** series. I have got one of those (upgrade form an Epson) and boy what a change. Photo quality is excellent, it is pretty quick and it is not as noisy as a vacumm cleaner.

They can also do Duplex printing!

I've not long bought a colour laser printer because of the colour output on it.Even on bog standard 80grm copier paper the colour is really good(with a magnifying glass i can just make out the dots)

What printer do you have? I've seen cheap colour lasers for £100, but figured they might be rubbish.

Thank you to everyone else. One thing i want is the ability to print a black and white image when the colour ink ahs run out. I HATE it when you've got a full tank of black ink, but due to you not having yellow ink - you can't print out your document.

Thank you all for your advice this far.

What he said.

Ive got a Canon Mp610 and love it.

Looks like ive made a ****-up....in replying to the quote i assumed he meant any color laser .....my new printer is the HP CP2025dn....which is a good bit more than your budget
sorry about that.

i used to cheat before i got this 1......used a colour inkjet for the colour stuff and added the text by putting thru a mono laser

The Canon LBP-5000 is also a decent colour laser, especially for text. It's also one of the cheapest in its class for prints (around 2ppp b/w, 8ppp colour).
