Well... It looks like it's happened. Someone wants me build them a small computer and left all of the preferences to me.

I wanted to do a watercooled parvum systems build, but then he sent me his budget. 800-1100 quid.

Sigh =(

I've never built a computer on such a low budget so need help.
Looks like I will have to air cool it too =(

What ya reckon could go into it?

Cheers!

Nah, the guy who wants it won't clock it I doubt. He just wants a lan machine that will play his games.

I might even go for a parvum case yet because I do want to build into one, but it does then mean it's a chunk out of the budget.

I won't need an os or monitor either which helps things along a bit

hmmm, well hes just dropped a bombshell too. he wants to use his 27inch imac as the monitor...

now will this work with just a standard mini display port?

ive no idea what a thunderbolt port is tbh, never used one.

it seems way easier when you have the cash to throw at it, the cheapest PC i built was £1930. With the smaller budget i just keep looking at the next one up as its only 30 quid etc and by the time ive done it on every component im way over budget lol =(

Okay, i'm dreading this but here goes.

You're not watercooling, you're not overclocking. So why the Prodigy? You could get something half the size that would do the same job.

because i like them lol ;) i did think about using a bog standard case tbh, but there has to be something in it for me.

he was willing to pay me to build it for him, i said no, just let me build into a case i like.

i showed him the parvum systems, but then he told me his budget, which tbh, took the wind out of my sails, i was hoping to chuck it all under water too =(
ive always wanted to do a little LAN build in a prodigy, but havnt got around to it yet, so this will scratch that itch at least.

yeh, i wanted to do it with a loop though, and do a really nice build, it looks like il have to wait till either the itch gets too much, and i just give in and build it myself, or someone with a bigger budget lets me build them one.

i dont want to do a budget system in a parvum case, they look too sexy.

Fair enough. I like the Parvum build the best, it's a funky looking case and still smaller than the Prodigy (admittedly not by much but it's a form factor bigger).

aye, ive seen the parvum systems at an event, they really do look the buisness when they are full of kit. but as above, i want to save that case for something of worth, rather than just using it for the sake of it
