Spec me a Projector :)

Hi there,

I have never used a projector before but I really like the idea.

We have a 48" LED 1080 TV that we use for everything. (HTPC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Wii). We have a very nice surround sound amp as well where we have all of our devices connected to and then it outputs the picture to the TV.

But I would really like to have a projector for occasional use. I don't want to spend a lot of money on it as I am not sure if it will work well or not so its sort of just to test the concept to begin with. Something as cheap as possible but still giving me 1080 out.


Another point I have is that we have bought one of the IKEA units
EXPEDIT TV storage unit - white - IKEA
This is 185 wide. So I want to attach a pull down screen to the top of this. This is just to give you some idea of the size that I want to be using.

I was thinking about getting a screen like
Sahara Manual Screen 1:1 Format 1560mm x 1560mm
Can you suggest a pull down screen as well, i would really like it to be as wide as possible up until 185. As i want it t be able to cover the ikea unit.

Well from my experience the GT750XL is an amazing bit of kit!

1080p for movies, games etc and 720p for 3D content.

Comes with 1 pair Active glasses and also had a built in speaker.

MASSIVE screen sizes but this is a short throw projector meaning if you set it about 6 feet away you will get about 120" screen.

Read up on it, its about £600 maybe cheaper now.
