Spec me a PS4 headset

No they are usb powered and have a 3.5mm jack to go to the joypad for the mic and the headphone jacks are supposed to be plugged into your amp or tv AV outputs. Can't use those unless I get an amp.

My modded ones just won't do party chat etc and game audio at the same time regardless of settings so I'm guessing you can't have both audio channels output over the joypad at the same time.
 
Can you get something similar to the basic xbox one headset? I'm not keen on the in ear one you get with the ps4.
 
Yeah but I need all audio through the headset as I'm in the front room with my old pc monitor.

I'll try and find a cheap stereo amp for now, I'm not paying £80 for a headset :(
 
Sorry haha! I got a set of game branded ones for £20 and unless I was unlucky I wouldn't get them again. There seems to be interference through them from mobiles as you get the same annoying sound as you do when a mobile is near a radio etc and they just look very cheaply made. Will try them again when I get an amp though.
 
Just for info (since you already bought a headset) the older PX3 headset works great on the PS4 inc Mic (with PS4 mic cable, either bought or made yourself)

Basically any headset that plugs into optical or red/white audio, that also has Xbox 360 audio chat should work fine too.
