Was looking at these. >
Corsair TX 850W ( But I've seen posts on the corsair forums with others having problems with this psu & the P6T?
Antec CP 850W Modular
Antec CP 1000W Modular

All views welcome..

Many thanks :)

get one of the Antec's, keep it in the family!!!!

how about a New truepower antec? 650 or 750w

Well my budget for a PSU is about £110..

All the cals i'm using and the one on the Antec site point towards a higher watt PSU than a 750?

I also see none of you favour the Antec CP? lol

Really appreciate all the help :)

750w will power your rig including two ati 5870 or even two nvidia gtx480.

I said get one of the antecs "keep it in the family", referring to the CP's

actually i saw an gtx480 sli system pull just over 800w. Its on one of the 460 reviews (anandtehc i think...).

but, yeh anything but that and 850w is a tad overkill.

what are you replacing the 9800 with?

seams a bit high?

bit-tech measured a i7 rig with single 480gtx at 360w

so its less than double that for sli, because you still only have one cpu/motherboard/etc.

I would go for the 750w truepower, always gets stellar reviews- http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Antec-TruePower-New-750-W-TP-750-Power-Supply-Review/766

edit, just looked at the anandtech thingy, thats mad! 200w difference between crysis and furmark.

Can depend a lot on the test, sometimes they go for 'realistic' gaming/3D mark tests, sometimes they do Furmark which can pull a bit extra... IMO it's best to look at the worst case scenario in case you want to overclock 2 cards + run Furmark to check it's stable etc.

But yeah considering you're going ATI anyway the 750W will be absolutely fine.
