ok, in relation to a previous post here i am leaning towards the problem being PSU related.
Current Spec :
i7 950 Bloomfield
GA-X58-USB3
6 x Corsair XMS3 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 1.65v
Zotac GTX480
4x SATAII HDDs
3x 120mm Case Fans
Corsair CX600

getting random BSODs and memtest fails when multiple sticks are fitted but passes when 1 is fitted at a time. i have played with the bios to get the volts right and lowered the ram timings to try and get over the problem but to no avail. does it sound PSU related? if so, what do you recommend for the job?

dont think SLI s something in the pipeline, modular would be good.
not for me for someone else, there budget is pretty open to be honest, he has had the pc now since before xmas and its not worked from the begining, so he just wants it running.

ok thanks :) do the problems described sound like a PSU issue as £87 is a lot of money if its not needed, or am i better looking for another cause?

From yours specs I wouldn't think it'd be psu related the cx600 should provide enough power to run the system. It may be worth checking the psu reviews on johnnyguru or the power usage site which I cant recall the name of. It's more likely to be a mainboard memory issue i'd think.

I have one with GTX 480. It'll even support SLI 480s fine. Has 720W on the 12v rail :) Because of this, has MAX output of 900W... so you'll be fine :D
You need to read the reviews there are of this unit. HardOCP, Hardwaresecrets and Jonnyguru have given CM GXs horrible reviews. There aren't many 750W PSUs that can be safely and reliably used as 900W units, and for some reason I don't think a GX will be one of them.
