My PSU appears to have died, came to switch the system on a couple of days ago to find the fans would repeatedly cycle up for a second then die then start again. Nothing else powers up, nothing from my Laing pump or the hard drives.
Tried to jump start the PSU earlier to find nothing will power on, not even the fans which seems a little odd.

In terms of a replacement what would be adequate to run:

Q6600 @ 3.6
8800 GTX
Laing Pump
2 Hard Drives
1 Dvd Writer
8 Fans

Anyone any idea why the fans would just cycle when all the power connectors are plugged in yet its totally dead when I try and jump start?

Just to double check your linking pins 13 & 14 (not counting the extra 4 pins) which are the green and black cables.

Also have tried with just a fan connected to one of the molex connectors only.

Hmm deffo the green cable, I just used the nearest black one to it. I thought any black would do?

No not tried with just one fan.

Just checked and I was using 13 & 14, tried with one fan connected and it just quivers a little and doesnt actually turn when I flick the switch.
