Hi guys, looking to upgrade my 620W seasonic PSU as i think its time for an upgrade as i have recently been upgrading all my other parts, want to get a top of the line psu ideally from corsair or another seasonic i dont mind where tbh, and it needs to be 800w + been looking at the 1kw psus, my system currently has a quad core oc'ed, water cooling system, 4 mechanical hard drives, and 2 ssd drives, 2 sli gfx cards and also a LOT of blue led lights etc thanks

i never knew seasonic made xfx ones, that looks perfect, are corsairs made by seasonic ? as i seem to remember when i got mine they was making them for corsair to, and tha psu seems perfect even modular, which is great any others out there ?

The AX Corsairs are Seasonics (except the AX1200), the HX range are a mix of CWT/Seasonic depending on the model, its easier to look for a review at Hardwaresecrets /jonnyguru and they will say who made what.

Have you calculated if you even need a higher spec PSU:

Try and get your current running at around 80+% for the best efficiency and be done.

I had a play earlier for my new upgrade and for an overclocked i5 with a handful of HDDs, SSD, fans and x2 5850s I was looking around 480W peak load @ 90%, which my 520W Corsair.......erm might not quite handle.

All this 850W and higher malarky would be for those running silly overclocks and a number of gfx cards. Don't waste your money, only upgrade your PSU if you REALLY NEED TO.

Hi there, thanks i filed in my pcs data into that link and it says the lowest psu i can get away with is 528 and better would be 590, so is there any point in upgrading ? would i notice any benefit at all ?

If your system runs fine and has no crashes or the PSU isn't shutting down then you are just throwing money away upgrading.

Your system works well, be happy and just enjoy it, upgrading for the sake of upgrading means nothing. Svae your money for your next upgrade or spend it on something else.
