Hi guys, currently have a corsair hx750 however I plan on using 4 7950's so I am assuming I need a better psu? I am pretty clueless on PSU's so could you spec me the best PSU for the cheapest possible? is 100 quid do-able for a good safe one? I am guessing I need a 1000 watter

Cheers

What CPU do you have and how much do you overclock it
And about the graphics do you plan to overclock them?
220W per card 880W just for the VGA to be safe
1200W is your target

As above. Please list the rest of the specs and whether or not you'll be overclocking. It will help us out.

sure.. got 2600k at 4.5, 60gb OCZ vertex 2 SDD, 1tb samsung f3, 8gb corsair vengeance , asus p867pro.

I assume im going to up my budget? I will be OC'ing a tiny amount

What kind of setup do you have to require 4x 7950's? Seems overkill for pretty much anything and not necessarily the best bang for buck.

Your motherboard will only take 3 cards. It looks like you will loose both pci-e x1 slots and USB 3.0 with all pci-e 16x slots (running at 8x/8x/4x) populated. Specs here. Actually i am not sure that the bottom slot will work for 3 way crossfire. Default speed is 1x and the main page shows only the top two pci-e 16x slots supporting sli/crossfire.

ah crud. Well its more for being used as a mining rig, then was later going to pass 2 of the cards onto my brother.

strange because it says:
Supports NVIDIA® Quad-GPU SLI™ Technology
Supports AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX™ Technology

you are quite correct http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8P67_PRO/#overview it says at the bottom when pointing to the pci-e slots that it support quad sli and crosfire yet there are only 2 x16 and 1 x4 slot..strange
