Good afternoon chaps,

Looking for a new PSU as my current 1000w PSU appears to be naff.

Currently i am running an i5 2500k at stock and 2 gigabyte radeon 7950's.

I need a new PSU that will hapily run that (i will be OC'ing the 2500) and in the not too distant future i'm likely to be moving to water cooling the thing, so i need a PSU that will be able to take that, i don't want it to last forever but i don't want to need to upgrade the PSU when i decide to upgrade the GFX cards and processor in the future.

Currently i'm looking at the Corsair AX860i, will that provide the power that i will need or would i be better of stumping up for the AX1200i bearing in mind the increase in power consumption coming from adding the water cooling set up ?

Or if there are any alternatives that you guys would suggest then they would be welcome. :D

Hi, you would have no problems running the above with the AX860i, even with water cooling that's the least you want.

The AX860i will be ample for your setup.

Watercooling will only add a small load, my system in sig pulled 330w from the mains at full load and that included custom water.

cheers guys.

What does one use a 1200W psu for if not for a set up like that ? are they really only of use if you want to run quad or tripple SLI / Xfire ?

As you say really, hi end systems which use multiple gpu's (3/4) and cpus.

A lot of people over estimate what there pc actually use.
