Hi, as title says, a good quality 850W Full Modular PSU.
Its for video editing, moving to 4K soon.
I was thinking Super Flower or Seasonic. In around the £200 mark or less.

Thank you again.

Whats the difference between the one you linked and this one?

That's the Platinum version, what's the difference?

Thanks.

It's still a very good PSU and slightly more efficient, power-wise. Just a slightly older platform. Can't go much wrong with either but I'd get the newer G3 platform, personally. It looks like they've tweaked a couple of things from the previous version, plus the PSU size is smaller and will fit in more cases.

Thank you Danny.

Built by SuperFlower, designed by EVGA around SuperFlower's Leadex II platform. EVGA support is top-notch. Here's a review of the 1000W unit, which rivals the more expensive Seasonic Prime units, to get an idea: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=494

Could someone please tell me before I order this PSU.
I have 6 internal Hard Drives plus SSD system drive, BluRay and DVD writer, card reader all connected.
Is there enough connections with this PSU for all that?

Thanks again.

- SATA 9x - 6x HDD, 1x SSD, 2x Optical = 9 SATA
- FourPin Peripheral 4x - Assuming Card rearder takes 4-pin Molex or floppy connector, you're good.
- Floppy 1x

That's a big difference in price, is the Seasonic worth that much more?

It depends on the system your building, but most people the extra cost of Seasonic Prime not worth it.

Personally if it was me I would settle for the the Seasonic X series as there much cheaper then prime but still very good PSU's.

Hmm not sold on the Seasonic Prime TBH. Jonny guru states on scoring page for the Prime PSU :-

Finally, there's that amazing ripple performance. 14mV was the worst of it, and you can't take anything away for that.

Where as for G3 on scoring page it states:-

And ripple? You find me the guy that says 9mV or under for all three main rails is a bad thing, and I'll smack him with a wet noodle.

So on ripple the G3 is better. Now on the hot test page the G3 stays fanless till 40°C.

Yup, forty degrees. And the unit stayed fanless roughly the same amount of time.

That to me is amazing plus what the PSU did for testing taking that into account.

I luv'd my Seasonic S12 600W, had that from sometime like 2005 to 2015, still in use at it's new home ;) . It powered plenty of OC'd setups and GFX, I'm not a light PC user either. In the sense I run f@h, etc for many hours at a time. Seasonic to me have become too pricey, Super Flower really been coming up with cracking PSUs. I was all geared up to get one (a G2) back when I built my i5 4690K rig, but the Cooler Master V850 came up on a crazy promo of £85 delivered. As it was Seasonic OEM/platform, I decided to get it. Have been thoroughly impressed by it so far :) .
