spec me a quiet CPU cooler

Silence is king. I can put up with lower clock for the cost of quiet.

I have a Zalman CLP9900 copper flower cooler five years old on my i7 but it does not have PWM and so runs at full pelt and sounds like living at Heathrow. It was quieter in my old case but is very noisy in my Antec 900 v3.

Up to £40. I also have all my Gigabyte RAM slots filled (16G).

Thanks, KS

Hi there,

It is £2 over your budget, but this thermalright is a very nice heatsink coupled with a pair of quiet fans.

This review shows it performs rather well while staying very quiet.

You mention all your memory slots are filled, are you using memory sticks with tall or low-profile heatsinks?
