So I’m after a new keyboard. I do light gaming (if that matters?) but I’ve never put any effort into actually getting a decent keyboard ever.

So I’d like to change that, I love mechanical, but it must be as quiet as possible (missus will kill me basically) budget tops around £120ish if that’s doable?

Thank you.

I found the Epomaker F75 with LEOBOG Ice Vein pretty quiet, a lot of padding on the keyboard, and the top plate flexes so provides more cushioning. I'd also recommend using xl mouse pad that is under your keyboard also

You'd want linear switches

There is massive choice, including all switch types probably 50+, limiting to linear or tactile only probably 25+

best get a switch sampler.

Also choice on UK or US layout (different enter key and left shift) plus different number of keys TKL or full size is most common) and also different keycap type, OEM, cherry etc etc.

Thank you both for your suggestions regarding, I will add I am very much a newbie in the world of keyboard and switches etc, so a lot of it might of gone over my head haha.

Dumb question, surely I’d opt for UK layout or am I missing something.

That Ducky looks good and value spot on too.

Depends. The US version has a bigger left shift, which can be handy in games. But it has a smaller Enter key (and of course $ and few different keys changed)

I can see the appeal of a bigger left shift, but I like the bigger enter key with UK keyboards

Thanks for explaining that, think I’ll just stick to the UK layout to be fair

WHY?

Just buy a normal keyboard that you like... I really don't understand the craze for loud and clunky keyboards, I also don't understand why people pay so much money for them, just to annoy themselves, and everyone else within 100m with the self entitled clicky clacky.

Just do not.

bequiet light mount if you want a 'off the shelf' keyboard with quiet / silent switches.

Questions

1 - What is a NORMAL keyboard?
2 - It's my keyboard, I like it how I like it. It's used in my room, who are you to judge how loud or clacky it is?
3 - Who says it annoys myself?

Last and final question. Do you normally go into sub forums on topics you have no interests in and call people self entitled, say they do things to annoy others? (this is a rhertorical as the answer is clearly YES).
