Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a new case and related fans to keep the noise of my PC down to a minimum, as im getting a Q9550 and Noctua CPU cooler soon i thought it was high time i get a decent case to go with it!

I'm not fussed bothered about clear side panels and all that fancy stuff, just a simple, sleek looking case. I just want it to keep the noise IN rather than amplify it!

So please could you guys spec me a case that is pretty roomy, in the price range of about 60-100 quid and any decent case fans that are great and of course, quiet! :)

Thank you :)

EDIT: Just looked at this case, the NZXT Whisper, any good?

Asaka Eclipse 62.

Large case with good airflow, fans that come with it are pretty much silent. it only has 2 but i have had no problems with heat at all. My system temps are normally at 27deg, and about 47 at load.
The case is HUGE, easily enough for whatever you want to put in it.
You can add clear sidle panels if you wish, i have not bothered.

As for Fans, Noctua are supposed to be quiet, I liek sharkoons, depends on if you want to use a fan controller.

The noise from my case come from the PSU, so get a quiet one and you should do well with the eclipse!

I can reccommend the P182, I have one with a Noctua cooler and I can't hear the cooler at all. The sides have 3 layers for noise dampening, plus the case has lots of other nice features. It's roomy, dust filters, great cable management, room for watercooling too.

Only thing i'd do is replace the default fans with maybe zalman or some yate loons since they could be quieter. The cost of this is small obviously.

Plus it's quite cool looking, not in your face gamer, but screams of quality imo. Very sleek.

Thanks for all your replies guys :)

So far im leaning most definitely towards the P182, looks right up my street :D

How many fans can it take, from what i read on the spec it's 5 x 120mm ones, is that correct?

There is one big 200mm i think on the top, that is pretty quiet anyway. There is one 120mm on the back, and another in the bottom bay. You can add another 120mm in the middle on the front if you remove the 2nd hdd cage. However, for the system in my sig, i've found the cooling ample. So that's 3 fans, two 120 and one 200 all controllable speed by switches on the back. The 120mm ones can be easily changed for something better than the default, though on low settings they're barely audible anyway.

Right, i've bought that and i decided upon 4 noctua 120mm fans to go with it.

Will the controls still have the desired effect on the fans, considering their running at different speeds to the Antec supplied ones i imagine. May be best to leave them at high or something, wouldnt want the fans going at 100 RPM !

I don't understand this ultra low noise adapter thing that these Noctua's come with, doesn't seem any different to me, parts wise!

You can't use the fan controls without a bit of modding of the new fans and old ones. Haven't done it myself yet, but I know some people on these forums have, perhaps someone could enlighten us?
