Ok my WC system is now 7 years old, had a few swaps of components and blocks during its time, but still running the original Rad, fans and pump.

I noticed while checking things over the other day, that the pump (Laing DC1 with XSPC top) is far noisier than all the fans in the system together (which run at approx. 60%).
I have 3 120mm fans on the rad, 3x120 and 2x92 case fans, so I think its time I swapped out the pump for something a lot quieter !

The WC only cools the CPU nowadays, and runs through an EK-Supremacy cpu block and a Thermochill pa120.3

So any recommendations for a suitable pump with the emphasis on quiet, and suitable top if required ?

I have two Ek Dcp 4.0's mounted on foam and cant hear them
A D5 vario would be the other option as you can adjust the speed

Either way, decoupling the pump is a good idea, and making sure the tubes connecting to them arent too tight as youmcan get vibration off them as well

Yes the pump is isolated from the chassis , I drilled holes and inserted rubber grommets for the mounting, so will do likewise for the replacement :)

I have noticed you can get pumps that will adjust dependant on the signal from the Mobo CPU fan, also I need a top/pump to take G1/4 fittings rather than fixed barbs, as I use compression fittings throughout.
The EK DCP 4.0 you are using looks to have those features .... that's worth looking into thanks :)
How is it fixed, does it have bolt mounts ?

Hmm a few reports of noisy pump for the EK ... maybe a QC issue as yours is not ...

Another option I can see - possibly a Alphacool VPP655 - PWM with plexi top ?

+1 for the VPP655 I have been running one for about 5 years now for many hours a day at full wack and still don't hear it over my quiet skythe fans.

Only downside I can see on the Alphacool (apart from price) is the PWM is not auto controlled, from pics I can see you have a 5 speed switch on the pump case ... which makes it a PITA to get to were my tower is situated.
I really like the idea of temp controlled speed, so when the PC is being used as a media server it will be quieter than a whisper.

It could be a down side if you want to control it but the tops for them allow both top and front in and out so you could face it either way. Then again I have mine on 5 all the time with no problems and cant hear it even if I shut the fans off.

Sounds pretty quiet then .... What is the deal with the Phobya pumps ? they look identical to EK DCP4. Maybe cheap copies ?
But it seems most user reviews are positive, and running only one block and rad, I think I could use the DC12-260 which is meant to be very quiet too.

Cheers chaps, decided on the Alphacool VPP655 - single edition with Alphacool HF D5 V2-2 G1/4 Plexi top.
I just hope it meets my low noise requirements :o

Even at half speed the VPP655 can move as much water as the EK DCP4 at full speed so you shouldn't have an issue however you want to run it.
