spending that much money on an edit suite and not getting a workstation graphics card, (specifically for video stuff you'd be a nvidea quadro series supported by avid) is absolute madness
 
Agreed for an AVid system, but Matrox have got a few of the ATI Radeons in their approved hardware list for this video system, including the 4870.
