Spec me a resignation letter please :)

Dear Boss,

I'm sorry that I slept with your Sister, but when your Wife suggested the threesome I just couldn't say no.

Yours faithfully

Here's a resignation letter that I wrote in 2006, with the relevant details removed:

Dear [name of manager],

Please accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation from the position of [job title] at [name of workplace], effective from [insert today's date].

I leave with some regret, having enjoyed my time at [name of comany], and will always be grateful for the experience and skills that I have gained during my employment.

Sincerely,

[name and signature]

Edit to suit.

:)

Seems good but you forgot one thing.

I agree with Evangelion, something along those lines would be ideal - brief and an overall neutral/positive tone. If the reason for resigning is a negative one, a dispute or other issue it really would be bad form to bring that up in the resignation letter as a moan. Your previous employers are almost always the best choice for reference when applying for new jobs etc.

Good luck with the resignation though!

Dear <relevant person>

Since buying Grand Theft Auto 4, I have realised that my future lies in violent crime. I am therefore resigning from my position.

I am so grateful for the experience I have gained during my employment that after stealing your car, I decided to abandon it only a few miles away without completely destroying it.
