Spec me a router :D

Hi guys, I need a new router... we broke one of the aerials on the one we have and now we are getting poor signal...

A few things to note:

It needs to be fast and have a really good range... My family does a lot of stuff that requires a solid connection... so if it drops, it can be trouble...

List of devices to be connected:
iPhone
iPod Touch
PS3
2 Laptops
A PC
PSP

And something else... I know I am missing something...

Also, we plan to wire the whole house up with ethernet ports so that if we are transferring files and what not, we get better speeds... do we need some sort of active system like USB (where you can't go above 5m without a repeater?)...

Apart from that, the choice is yours. The PS3 is used a lot and the PC will be a gaming one (my build hopefully sometime soon)... so maybe one of those 2 routers in one sorta systems... and if possible, can it include a Hard Drive connection (but it isn't vital)...

As for wiring up the whole house, you'll want something like this as a central switch

HP ProCurve Switch 1400-8G Switch

giving you 7 possible ports (plug router into the 8th)


Cables can be up to around 90m long each

Cable Broadband... so no in built dial up thingy needed. And if I put the splitter before the router, does that not be mean that the computers connected to the sockets won't be networked?
