I'm looking at getting a new router, as Virgin SuperHub is terrible. I'm currently studying CISCO CCNA course and I was thinking of buying a CISCO router as my main. But I don't think other household users would like their wifi gone every now and then... So I might opt for something else and buy a CISCO router in the future for my own testing.

It's mainly the bad coverage that annoys me in the SH...

This is my current connection..

Budget: £40-80? (I don't really want to go above £90)

what about the superhub don't you like, is it just the wifi coverage? why not disable the wifi and pickup an access point instead? you will get a lot more for your money, so to speak.

splitting up my setup at home was the best thing i have done. Router -> switch -> Access point

The SH is terrible, I found it to work better whilst its in moderm mode only with an external wireless router.

And... I want something with more features that I can play with. :p

Asus RT-N66U is within budget, brilliant router. Flash Merlin on it and you'll have more options to play around with.

Do you use this router?

I use the RT-AC68U personally but that's a lot more expensive :p. I had the RT-N56U as well (now handed down to a relative) which also works very well.

RT-N66U is one of the favourites on this forum though, very stable and good wifi range.

There's the RT-AC66U as well, but I believe that's over £90. Wireless ac will make better use of your fibre speeds though.

I was actually looking at the router you're using, but then saw the price and was like... nope.
