anyone here able to spec me a router with quality of service?

I need to prioritise skype over internet browsing and gaming.

It's for ADSL mainly.

Thanks.

WRT54GL

It is a very popular and well supported router.

Generally people flash the firmware to openWRT so if you are confident with that it is a brilliant choice.

Note though that it is only a router, you need to connect it by ethernet to a modem via the openwrt's wan ethernet port.

It should work with any setup but if there are problems people will be happy to help.

what is the voip built in part, what does it do.
I use a 780WL and use www.internetcalls.com for Euros 10 plus vat I get 5 hours a week for 120 days of calls. This is to most countries in the World - them as don't charge for incoming calls (non third World Countries) I also have a normal incoming number - rings anywhere in the Work I happen to be connected to the net( a McDonalds in Sydney) with my netbook. I have a normal telephone plugged into the router and use this for all of my calls. The Euro 10 does not run out at the end of 120 days just that then one must pay for calls or use for chargeable calls to mobiles etc. This is easily set up on the router

voip could be good because we will be telling BT where to shove it.

Is skype really classed as voip in any way? or do people just say that, or can it also be used for true voip. I've never really cared properly about voip other than just chatting online as in skype, but am I right in thinking the idea is it is used as a house phone that connects digitally?
